Open Source panel

Wed, May 10th 2006: Sydney, Australia: CeBIT

A panel session on Open Source software, featuring Con Zymaris (President of Open Source Industry Australia), David Purdue (President of Australian Unix User Group) and myself, and chaired by well-known IT journalist Simon Sharwood.

The panel session was very well attended and we discussed various issues relating to the benefits of Open Source software, the factors that are contributing to its rapid uptake in business, and how businesses can go about obtaining service and support of a similar or superior level to what is available for proprietary software.
